should you kiss your baby if you get coldsores?

I read a topic about how someone doesn't kiss their baby because she gets cold sores(herpes 1) and was AMAZED how many people told her that it only spreads when she has a active cold sore, or she could still kiss toes and other places and be fine....at least 10 people were on there saying that.......

YOU "CAN" SPREAD COLDSORES WITHOUT  SYMPTOMS!!!!!!

Where do you guys find this? Dr. Google? The herpes virus 'sheds' when shedding there can be zero symptoms...no coldsore, no pain or itchy spots no symptoms and when it sheds it can spread..... and herpes isn't picky about where it goes it doesn't say I only wanna infect the lips or genitals....herpes can literally go wherever you put it...toes, head ect....this guy was trying to become a MMA fighter and had to leave the competition because they discoved he had herpes on his forehead from his mom kissing him goodnight when he was younger.....obviously they wrestle in MMA so that was a issue

I'm not saying never kiss you baby because  you get a cold sore here and there but just know the facts and realize that even though you feel fine and don't have a coldsore doesn't mean it can't spread....I'm not trying to be rude because I get cold sores to but I COULDNT believe how many people thought you have to have a coldsore for it to spread or that it won't effect toes and such....c'mon guys... :/

Shouldnt kiss babies early on anyways , ive seen on the news a mother kissed her baby . ( she didnt have cold sores ) but the baby developed a infection and later died . so no i wouldnt kiss my baby early on ( maybe on the belly  ) sometimes we carry infections that are not seen , so that could put your baby at a high risk of getting that infection

I grew up with a mom, dad, and brother who had cold sores. Our house, my whole life, was littered with the yellow lidded Carmex things (I think that's what it's called). I kissed all of them growing up on the lips. Drank after them, ate off their utensils. I never got one, EVER. Apparently you can be immune to it. 
Not saying you should kiss your kids when you have one, just putting out my experience as an informative post that some people can be immune to it. I just got lucky I guess!

You have a higher chance of it spreading when active, and active sores, normally when you don't have a sore, present at anytime, you have less of a chance of spreading.

When I had my son I got a terrible cold sore (my obgyn said because of hormones) but My son's Pediatrician said not too , my obgyn said not too & the nurses when I delivered him said not too. So I didn't really get to kiss him until he was about a week old.

Don't kiss your kids, husband, friends, parents, family ANYONE if you have a cold sore. The minute you feel that itch you are contagious. This is how they get spread to kids at such a young age - people wanting to kiss on baby when they have a sore. I'm speaking from experience. My grandmother and mom had them and I broke out as a toddler with my first and have suffered with them ever since. Every single one of my siblings did too because grandma was always kissing on us. Only one to escape was my brother who wasn't touchy feeling and always wiggled away. I know it's hard not to kiss on baby but don't do it for their sake!
