I read great reviews about spectra. Even a mom blogger who said she at first went with Medela but it was loud and uncomfortable and didn't have some features she wanted and was a pain to clean because it wasn't closed system so she'd have to worry about milk back flow. Any how even though the Medela was free she went onto Amazon and bought the S1 and said its the best thing she could have done.

Agree with Nina! Spectra S2 was actually recommended by my doctor and the hospital I'm delivering in over Medela. The closed system is definitely what sold me. Also, many insurance companies don't fully cover for a free Spectra, but if yours does, I'd jump on it!

I know medela is a popular brand and has been around a while. But I've read some great reviews on the Spectra. The things that won me over was that it's a closed system, it's quieter, and you can adjust the suction and speed separately. I googled spectra vs medela and found some good reviews.
