Can't decide if we should baptize?

Question

My husband and I are both Christian. I was raised Catholic but consider myself more generic Christian bc I don't like a lot of things about the Catholic Church in particular. Husband is straight up just Christian. Actually our pastor that married us belonged to a UCC church and I found that a better fit for me, if I would ever go to church. Problem is, I work full-time weekends so I can't go on Sat/Sun ever. If any churches near me even offer weeknight masses, they are Catholic (UCC is further drive from me and weekends only) and basically just a handful of elderly ladies attend - not where I would fit in, especially with a little one lol. So there's really no point in us joining a church. We go to Bible study with friends sometimes, but that's just informal and at a friend's house.

Can my baby even GET baptized if we don't belong to a church? I don't personally believe he would be doomed to hell or anything if we don't, but it would be a nice family event - some members if my family are very religious, especially my mom, so they would appreciate it

I personally don't feel like a child should be baptised unless they ask. They can't make that commitment as a baby, so why even do it?

I was raised Catholic but now go to a Christian Church.  We do baby dedications, not baptism.  We believe baptism comes after salvation and decision to be baptized is made by the individual.

At my church we dedicate the baby to the Lord and the church prays over the parents and the baby and then when the child is old enough to make the decision to get baptized then that's when they do. But I am Pentecostal so we may do things differently.

Our church does a "dedication" for babies, basically you say that you'll raise your kids with good Christian values. Our minister said they don't like to do baptisms until the child is able to actually understand what the baptism is. (It's a Baptist church btw)

I am not trying to offend someone but a baptism in my opinion is for that individual person to choose. In the bible it talks about children and how they are innocent, so I don't find it necessary to baptize a baby until they are old enough to understand and choose for themselves.

Do a dedication! Instead of a baptism. They need to be old enough to decide for themselves. There's nothing in scripture saying you should baptize babies

You can "present" or "dedicate" your baby if you don't want to baptize it yet. It shouldn't matter if you belong to the church or not. My sister is going to baptize her baby and she doesn't even attend church. 
I was raised Catholic & my SO was raised Baptist, but we don't see ourselves as "belonging" to a religion because we don't attend church and we just choose not to "pick" one. We plan on presenting, but not baptizing until our boy is older.

I'm sure he could, but in my opinion it's best to wait. Dedicating them to the lord though is the best thing you can do but we may believe a little different considering I'm baptist/Pentecostal. The reason I hyphenate is because I believe the same as both in ways and was raised in both types of churches. Hope you find the answer you're looking for god bless you and that sweet baby :)

I know there are ordained ministers who do baptisms as well. We had an ordain marry my husband and I and he did a few different religions. With that you could do it any day or time. Worth checking into.
