Mucous Plug? Help!

I'm 32 weeks and I am actually going in to see my OB today, but not for a few hours. I think I may have lost my mucous plug? It was just a glob of mucous. Maybe 10-15 minutes later, I went to the bathroom again, and there was a ton more mucous! Is this normal? I figured I would mention it to my OB at the appt, but now am wondering if I should call ahead of time? I'm a first time mom so this is all new to me...
