Too much fluid??

Question

I've been scanned today because stomach was measuring 35 weeks at 31 and a half yesterday. I've got too much fluid and baby is measuring perfect. Now I'm paranoid that there's something wrong with him. Anybody had any experience with this x

Do you have gestational diabetes?  I do and I have Polyhydramnios.  We learned about the excess fluid before the gestational diabetes diagnosis, but it's a marker for it, so I wasn't surprised when my results came back.  It just puts you at a higher risk for preterm delivery.  Your doctor will keep a good eye on you.  Try not to stress too much over it.

I have a growth scan scheduled for next Tuesday because at 34.3 weeks I was measuring 38! She did mention that excess fluid could be a reason so I googled it. Bad idea, which I should have known. Others responses are uplifting and good to read! Thanks for posting this.

I had too much amniotic fluid with my first and she was perfectly healthy and on time. I wouldn't worry about it at all!

I got told I was on the upper end of what they'd expect at my last scan (33+1) in terms of water although the sonographer checked baby's liver, kidneys and nose/lip formation and said she couldn't see any reason. All my sugars have come back normal and I have a meeting with a consultant tomorrow just to check. The sonographer said 60% of the time there is no reason for it at all so not to worry! I would pass the same advice on to you! Try not to worry, it seems they will just monitor you a bit more in the last few weeks :)

Back in July I measured too much fluid but when I went back a month later, I was normal again. They doctor said it can fluctuate. Although, I was high again last month but we just discovered that I have gestational diabetes. I guess that's a side effect. I wouldn't worry though. There is a slight chance of it being caused by an infection but I'm sure they would do blood tests if they felt concerned.
