My son is 5 and very loving. He's been excited about having a sister this whole time and I've been giving him extra attention just so he doesn't feel left behind. The last week though he's been crying for no reason and asking to be held while he goes to sleep. I think he's trying to cope with not being the baby anymore. My SO bought our unborn daughter a little musical bear which we had next to her crib and the other night I had my son lay with it and told him his sister needed him to love it up before she gets here. He's slept with it the past couple nights, and today when he got home from school he started getting weepy, went upstairs and brought the bear down. He clutched it while tears were streaming down his face and kept saying he wants to love everyone and needs to love the bear. He's more calm but he said he wants his sister to come soon so he can love her instead of the bear. Breaks my heart trying to help him understand all of this when he is so young.
