Just friends? HELP

So, my boyfriend and I have been dating since 9/15.. he recently wanted to stop and be just friends because I got kicked out of my home and had family drama. He said he wants me to situate myself first and get the drama fixed. But he brought it up around 3 am 2 nights ago and we decided to just fix it. Then the next day he decided to take a break. Mind you, this kid and I have been neighbors for more than 7 years. Went to school together and we're best friends. He thinks he rushed it. Yes we did have sex, many times, and I'm hoping that's not all it was for. He and I just recently got out of our relationships recently his was more recent. His ex cheated on him twice and frankly, I think that's what he's afraid of is getting cheated on. When we made up i turned around for a split second and he was texting someone, when I turned to ask him a question, he tried to hide his phone. I haven't confronted him about it yet because I don't want to assume the worst. He still talks to his ex and says he's not the type to cheat or ever hurt a girl but, he doesn't see that he hurt me I was extremely happy and I don't know what to do now. I'm afraid that he'll talk to other girls or his ex, I'm afraid I'm the rebound girl. He says he doesn't just have sex with anyone, only those that he loves and there aren't many. I just don't know what to do. We've spent nights together laughed, wrestled had many many fun times together all in 2 weeks. I just need some advice.
