oral herpes

Does an outbreak of oral herpes look/feel exactly the same as a cold sore?

I have a tiny bump on my bottom lip that hurts a little. I've had a cold sore before and it's definitely not the same thing, no itching or tingling. I think I may have just bitten my lip but it's worrying me.
