Bringing baby to a wedding?

Our first baby is due April '17. He or she will be around 6 weeks old when my husband is best man in his best friend's June wedding. I'm hoping to be breast feeding and the wedding is in another state, so I can't really ask a family member to watch the baby (even if I were comfortable leaving them with someone). We've told the bride and groom about our good news, and they both were excited about the baby potentially coming. 
I know we've got a long time to decide, but I'm nervous about both the travel (we are in Cleveland and the wedding is in Atlantic City), the hotel with a tiny baby, and bringing a tiny baby to a wedding. We'd likely drive, and I'd probably wear the baby to discourage people holding him or her. Any thoughts (or success stories)?

My plan is to be flying my mom to NYC so she can watch the baby (6 weeks old as well) while we attend the wedding. Still figuring out the best method to get there ourselves since we live in wisconsin. I'll talk to my dr about it once things get closer-this isn't until next June.

My cousin bought her 3 week old to my wedding and the baby was a peach and just slept the whole time. She did cry during the ceremony but they took her out rather quickly. I don't remember anyone holding her except her parents. I think it'll be easy to say that especially if you're wearing the baby.

My best friend, his best friend and my college roommate are all getting married next spring and summer so this baby will be well traveled! We plan on bringing my 13 year old niece and I will likely baby wear. We will also be driving and I will likely sit in the back with the baby. I plan to be breastfeeding and if your wearing baby you can discreetly feed in the wrap or carrier. We will probably be staying at his moms house or hotels I am thinking about getting a dock a tot for baby to sleep in when traveling. So many elements but I think we will just roll with it as they come!

I have a similar situation as you, we are planning on driving down and bringing a pack n play with a sleeper for the hotel room. I'm going to skip the ceremony (I hate crying babies during weddings!) and attend the reception with the baby. I will likely just bring the car seat - I once saw a friend do this with her newborn at a wedding and not many people were messing about with the baby. As long as you sit yourself somewhere out of a high traffic area so no one is going to trip on the car seat I think it should be fine.

I'm hoping an older relative (we know the grooms family a bit) will watch for a song or two so I can dance with my friends and husband but if it doesn't happen, I'm fine with that!
