are you still taking prenatal vitamins?

One box I bought said to take them for the first trimester. The next said take them the whole pregnancy. Both contain about the same blend (2 capsules omega 3, two others containing folic acid and iron and other handy stuff).

I'd take them the whole pregnancy. Your baby needs the vitamins, and honestly if you do take them the whole pregnancy you'll feel A LOT better and not so tired. Your body is going to give your baby what they need in order to stay healthy which means if they have to take away your daily requirements they definitely will.

There are nutrients in prenatals that will prevent birth defects like spinabifida and cleft palette. You need to take the prenatal vitamins throughout your pregnancy. If you cant afford them, I am pretty sure there are programs to get them free through planned parenthood, or ask your pharmacist. Personally I could tell on days when I forgot to take mine,because I would feel horrible. I still take them now because I am breastfeeding and I would prefer not to have all the neutrients come out of my body for the baby (for example if you dont get enough omega 3s during pregnancy and breastfeeding, your body will give the baby omega 3s from your brain.... no thanks.)
