Ultrasounds?

How many ultrasounds have you had? Do you fear they are unsafe for the baby?

I'm in Japan where they do an ultrasound every visit, making that at least 15 times. The prenatal care is excellent here so I'm not worried.

I'm 14 weeks and I've had 11 ultrasounds. With my daughter I had 38 total (I had her at 32 weeks) and she was 100% healthy.

I've had about 6 I think.. but I'm expecting twins so, different story.

I've had five so far, plus one little sneak peak at work with the bedside ultrasound just for fun.

2 so far. My thirds and, probably, final will be the anatomy scan at 21 weeks.

I've had one so far at just short of 8 weeks. I will have my next, and probably last, on the 13th at 19+4.

I've had one and it was something I had to pay for out of pocket. Unless something is wrong, the Norwegian scheme only has one ultrasound at 18w

I had 2 and having the 3rd one in 2 weeks (anatomy).
With #1, I had much more because I had bleeding in my 1st trimester and then in the 3rd my cervix was dilated early and I had premature contractions. Doctors would tell you that they are safe but like most things we don't have evidence about potential long term effects. 
I personally don't feel comfortable about the idea of going to an imaging center just to see baby or just to find out about gender. I feel the same about home dopplers but that's my personal opinion and I know many women would disagree.
I see them as medical tests that should be ordered based on a medical necessity so if my doctor says I need one, I'll get one. If not, I won't.

I've had two, a dating scan at 10 weeks and a NT test scan at 12 weeks. I like to think the scans are not, harmful but like anything in life, I keep an open mind to the possibility. My next scan is schedualled at 19 weeks for the anatomy check!
