How do you get your baby to sleep the whole night?

My LO gets a bath around 8:30 and bottle at 9:00pm and off to sleep. Shes back up again at 1:00am and then again 4:00 am. How you get your baby to sleep the whole night?? My baby is so jumpy that i think she wakes her ownself up.

Sometimes I think it's just luck. But as they grow they can go a little longer without eating. For example my 8 week old will have her bottle at 11 pm before our bedtime & wont wake up till 6am for her next feeding which is fine because I wake up at 7 to get ready for work. But I do admit swaddling does help if you got baby use to that from the beginning :)

My son is 7 weeks tomorrow and will sleep for 4 or 5 hours sometimes. Usually hes up ever 2 or 3. As they get older they sleep longer, but for now thats just how they are.

They have to eat every 2-4 hours at this age so she should wake up at least once or twice during the night to eat. My son would sleep 9-10 hours straight when he first came home and his pedetrician said he has to wake up to eat or could become dehydrated.

I nurse my 2 month old to sleep in our bed and let her sleep for at least an hour on her belly so she's in a deep sleep when I move her to her rock n play next to our bed,

I think sometimes it's just luck. I also think that it depends on the child and when they are ready. My six week old daughter gets her last feeding around 1030pm and falls right to sleep until about 430am and eats, and falls back asleep till 830am. She's been doing this consistently for about 3 weeks! But I was sure to keep the same routine going every night from the time we brought her home. I also try to keep her up after dinner time or limit her sleep from 7pm to 10pm. Sometimes swaddling or sitting in a rocker for an hour before bed helps!!

Swaddling also helps. I LO used to kick himself awake! His arms and legs are always moving! I find that when I swaddle him, usually right before the last bottle, he sleeps longer.

How old is she? Do you swaddle her? Sometimes that can help with the jumpiness and waking herself up.

My baby is 7 weeks old and has been sleeping from 8.30pm until 6am :o!!! I'm really hoping this stays! :P

Our bedtime routine is shower together  (on alternate days), and she falls asleep while I read her a story and rock her on my knees.
