My water broke on 9/26 at 9:15 pm my contractions weren't picking up so they gave me an oral medication to kickstart labor we did two rounds of that and around 10 am contractions were picking up. I was dilated 3 cm so they started pitocin. I was determined to deliver naturally because I am on a blood thinner and getting an epidural increases the risk of a spinal clot if given within a 24 hour time frame of the last dosage. For me to get an epidural I needed to labor naturally until 3 pm. I had absolute awful back labor the ENTIRE time and the pitocin made it even more awful becaus the contractions were so intense. I received some fentanyl around 230 pm and asked to be checked because I had pressure. The nurse said I was only a 4 and I felt so defeated because I was in so much pain and had labored so long. Finally around 4 pm I asked for the epidural. I got the epidural at 5 pm and it didn't take I was screaming in pain and that I had to push they upped th epidural to try to help the pain and finally my doctor checked me right after the epi was places and said I was ready to push. My little princess was born at 5:50 pm and weighed 6 lbs 8 ozs. During delivery my tail bone broke because baby was sunny side up and I have been in awful pain from that but my baby is so perfect it is all worth it!
