My hair is a mess & I wanna dye it so bad. Will it harm my baby.?

Hair dye cannot be absorbed through the scalp, the problem is the fumes. Just make sure you're in a well ventilated room.

I am a stylist and there are ways to go about colouring that are less hazardous to baby. Colour absolutely IS absorbed into our bodies. Our skin is our largest organ and ANYTHING we put on it will go into our systems. (That's why lots of medications are in patch form). If colouring your safest bet is foils. It keeps the product off the scalp and only trace amounts will enter among shampooing. Your next best bet it using a Demi. It's a deposit only form of colour that is ammonia free. Although it fades faster and isnt as powerful at covering greys it's your only other "safe" bet. I do believe obstaining is best. I personally have been letting my roots go as long as posts me then been using a Demi. (Can't have roots in my profession). As far as permanent colours they are high in ammonia and ammonia is unsafe for baby. I refuse to use it on my pregnant clients. Although I'm sure there have been tons of mommas that have coloured their hair and have healthy babies. Those chemicals are still stored in you and your babies bodies and the long term affects are yet to be known. With increased cancer rates and health issues to me it's personally not worth the risk of my child and others wellbeing 💕

I waited until my second trimester and i did mine grey. I just made sure to cover my mouth and nose when she put the dye. But I got ok by my doctor.

Hi im on my baby #3 18 weeks. I never dye my hair during any of my pregnancies. My doctor mention how the chemicals can go into your pours & can hurt the baby, dont know exactly how but to be in the safe side if you dont need it ,dont but if is something that would make ypu feel better witch im going through that myself lol than idk 😲

My best friend dyed hair during all 3 of her pregnancies and had no issues. I also know several other women who have done the same with no issues

Dyeing your hair cannot harm the baby ! A hair dresser would just tell you it might not come out the way you want since your hormones are out of wack . With my second child my hair dresser dyed my hair and it washed out within a week . I'm currently 18+2 and dyed my hair last weekend and it hasn't been washing out . So do your hair girl just don't get mad if it comes out a strange colour or washes out quick :)
