What to expect from first obgyn appointment? I'll be 5 weeks 3 days. How long does it take to get the test results back? Do they normally call you back with the results?

Answer

If you're just getting blood work done it doesn't take that long. Roughly 30-45 mins. If you're health care provider has an online health record you should be able to see results the next day. My doctor uses the "no news is good news" method; if I don't get a call everything is normal. Also, they'll get yours and the fathers health history. Basically what, if any, diseases run in your families or birth defect etc. Then you'll get the list of dos and don'ts while being pregnant. My doctor gives us packets of all the prenatal info, breastfeeding, classes available, etc.
