Tips for social anxiety?

I have social anxiety so it's hard for me to talk to guys. I've never had a bf or been on dates either. Anyone have any advice?

S A M E. I used to have it so bad, to the extent I spent the whole summer indoors in my room because I was terrified of going outside and socialising. But now, I have a job and I go to college and meet new people all the time. When I got my job everything started to get so much better and ever since I started being independent I hardly ever get anxiety attacks. Speaking as someone who has tried so hard to overcome it for years with medication or therapy etc., the cure is literally socialising. I know it's terrifying and I still find it difficult to speak to new people but putting yourself in social situations constantly is the best cure ever. I'm so happy when I think of how far I've come, I've gone from never ever going out or making plans with my friends to constantly doing stuff! If I'm not at college I'm at work and when I'm not at work I'm making plans with my friends! I can't remember the last weekend I had where I sat in my room doing nothing and THAT is how you overcome social anxiety. I'd love to talk to you about it if you want 😊

I have social anxiety too. Well, I used to. I mean I'm still shy around strangers but I've gotten a lot better! The thing that helped me the most was to have little challenges for myself... Like to put myself in situations that make me a little nervous (nothing too crazy, don't push yourself too hard). Like I would be on the sidewalk and someone would walk by me and I would compliment something about them. Or try to create a little generic conversation to the cashier at the grocery store. Little stuff like that helped me a lot. I'm still terrified of public speaking but I would say even that isn't as scary for me anymore. Hope this helps!
