Question About Temping

Okay ladies, I have a question. I am ordering my basal thermometer soon, but I have a question as to when to take my temperature. I know you are supposed to do it before you get up right when you wake up, but I wake up twice. My husband gets up at 3am to get ready for work and I get up with him to let the dogs out. Then I go back to sleep for a few more hours after he leaves. So do I temp at 3, the second time I get up, or both?
