Opinion on showers for 2nd babies?

Question

I've always thought that having another shower for babies after your 1st was unnecessary unless in situations like large gaps in age or something like that. But it seems like "sprinkles" are becoming more common and now that I'm having my 2nd I'm sort of jealous every time I see someone having one. I don't think or even expect anyone to plan one for me, especially because this is our 2nd girl and it's only a 4 year age difference. My MIL did throw one for my brother in laws wife, but i guess she did because it was a boy this 2nd time around after a girl first. Just wondering everyone's views on the topic since it's becoming more popular. :)

To me the rules on baby showers Come from families traditions or even that areas traditions. Where I live in Canada the baby shower is always after the birth and it's like a meet and greet. If you have more than one shower people are going to think your greedy because all the big ticket items should be bought by then or you would hope lol

I'm having another one my first was a boy whose 4 and I'm having a girl this time around but this will be my last child

I'm doing a "sip and see" instead. It's kind of like a baby shower, but after the baby is born.

My friend is throwing me a sprinkle and this is my third child. It is what it is. I'm buying all the big expensive things, and I don't even expect gifts it's people coming together to celebrate life.
