C-section fear! Any advice from C-section mom's?

I'll be having a C-section in November and I thought I was prepared.  Then one of my friends on Facebook shared a story about a woman who had a truly horrible experience during her emergency c-section. She described her organs being pulled out and them ripping everything open and cutting through her abdominal muscles.

Now,  my doctor has assured me that no cutting off the muscle happens,  and she laughed when I asked her about my organs being removed from my body to get to the baby... so surely this story has to be fictional,  right?

Please,  mom's,  tell me a little about your c-section experience and will you add if it was emergency or scheduled? I just want to have a realistic idea in my head of what I can expect.

The procedure itself was probably the least painful part of the whole proccess. The hardest part was recovering! Immediately following surgery i was shaking up a storm, and i missed a round of my pain meds which was not a smart idea. It was not comfortable to laugh, cough or sneeze for weeks following surgery too.

Hi Alex! I'm a C-Section mom...and nothing that that woman discribed is true...and after my baby was born I was immediately operated to my fallopian tubes. They removed my right fallopian tube because it was damaged by a huge cyst. I was awake with a local anesthesia. It was ok. Don't worry. Everything will be ok! 😘😘😘

I had an emergency C-section after it was determined my son had arrested descent. I was extremely groggy- I had to really fight to stay awake to see my little guy. The worst parts for me were that my hands were tied down and it freaked me out to not be able to feel my legs. But I didn't feel any of the actual procedure- no pressure or tugs or anything.

I also will be having my 3rd csection and can honestly tell you that the anxiety of the epidural and the pressure were probably the worst for me!  Only because I knew what to expect the second time around my anxiety seemed worse and now with this being my 3rd I'm constantly having night terrors about the whole experience!!  It's all worth it in the end though!!  Good luck

Had an emergency csection. No organs were removed. Recovery was a breeze and haven't had any negative side effects. Ill be having another csection in Nov. Good luck mama.

I had one in December 2014 and having my second next month. What I wish someone would have told me before surgery was that you will feel them moving and tugging and whatnot, but you will not feel pain. I thought I would be totally numb and when I started feeling movement in my abdomen, I freaked out and my doctor threatened to put me to sleep and I quickly shut up lol!! But it's sooooo fast and the recovery isn't too bad if you get up when you can and try to get yourself back to normal without pushing too hard. You will be sore once the medicine goes away that 1st day but don't be afraid to take the pain meds and also any gas x! I had terrible gas stuck all in my insides but once I was able to pass it (yes, farting it out lol!) I felt sooo much better! Sorry this is all over the place but those are the things that first came to mind.

I had a c section with my first because after being induced with Pitocin, I never dilated enough for the doctor to even break my water. So eventually they decided a c section was necessary. The worst part for me during the actual procedure was how numb I was. My body was so numb that I couldn't even swallow my saliva! I dealt with it and didn't freak out, but it was a little disturbing. Afterwards, I was really groggy from the combo of meds they gave me so I didn't even really see and definitely didn't hold my son until the next morning (he was born at 4:15 in the afternoon). After that, the recovery wasn't too bad. I did need to take a few pain pills once I got home, but nothing major. I am delivering this baby via scheduled c section at another (MUCH better!) hospital and I'm very comfortable with my doctor, so I'm praying for a slightly different scenario this time around.

I'm having my second csection in November . My first wasn't planned was a slight emergency but nothing to that sort happened. I was extremely groggy from the meds and fell asleep for a period of time but nothing horrible

I had an emergency csection. It was freaky to not feel my legs and be awake while they did it but it was fine. My epidural made me shake and throw up and recovering from the csection was painful but the actual procedure itself was quick and fine

They just cut pop the water and deliver the baby and placenta then stitch and stable you up. This will be my 4th
