Do you think some people are better off and happier without a significant other, and being independent?? Or is there SOMEONE out there for everyone?

I used to think there's someone for everyone until I met my old roommate. Brilliant mind, speaks four languages, masters in international relations, but has a hole in his heart and probably won't make it past 50. He can't achieve orgasm, and never feels the urge to engage in sexual activities. He has never stayed in the same place for more than five years. He wants to be a Coptic monk, and opens his door and heart to all those in need, fostering love and conversations in between bouts of dancing and glasses of wine. He doesn't want to be with anyone, and yet he is with everyone. A rare soul indeed.

Well idk about anyone else but I actually really enjoy being single and I don't see that as something bad.

I personally don't see soulmates though as exclusively for romantic relationships. Like, I think a soulmate is someone who no matter what just understands you better than anyone else, supports you etc. I think that could be a friend or family member, not necessarily a partner.

I know my grandmother is. Woman has had 8 husbands and only married truckers -people who would be gone for months at a time. At least she knows what she wants 😂

No I don't think that there's always going to be someone out there for everyone, after watching my parents for the last 18 years. They were married for 12 years, divorced when I was 3. It's been 15 years and my dad has never even dated someone after my mom. He lives alone and is comfortable that way. He's a bit shy and a bit socially awkward, and I can't for the life of my imagine him having a SO again. It's sad, but that's the way he wants it. My mom has remarried twice but both marriages fell apart, and now she's single too. Maybe they were meant for each other but it just wasn't meant to work out. I'm not sure

I feel like everyone needs people in their life in some way or another....

....but not all people need a SO in their life for it to be fulfilling.

^^ Some people are happy just being around others but not being attatched to certain individuals in their life.

Do I believe in soulmates? If a soulmate is your better half and makes you feel complete, that could apply to anyone who comes into your life and makes you feel that way. They don't have to be a SO.

I'm a romantic and think there is someone out there for everyone. Luckily I found my soul mate at an early age, but some people find them when they are in their 40s/50s.

Yes some people prefer the solo life but if someone perfect came into your life wouldn't you want to give up that life for an even better one?
