cold sores on 6 year old lip?

My 6 year old and home yesterday from school and I noticed what looks like a cold sore on her lip. Can I use Abreva on a 6 year? And will she need antiviral medicine?

Yogurt is good for cold sores.  My son gets them from time to time and the doctor said to just eat yogurt.  The ingredients in it fight off cold sores.  It always works and they never come back.

Use earwax. As strange as it sounds, it's the best medicine I know + it tastes yukky, so you are repelled to lick it off.

Is it possible it could be something else? Dryness, chapped, or just a sore? Is this the first time you've seen this?  I would let a doctor diagnose that before applying abeva. What if that's not what it is? Take her to one please.
