Today I had my twelve week ultra sound. When my partner and I found out we were expecting we were very shocked. I was feeling very overwhelmed, unsure, kept thinking I was going to miscarry-a very big adjustment. Something I wasn't sure I had wanted in my life, especially at this time or wasn't sure if I would be a good mother. Today changed everything! The emotions started pouring in when I heard my babies heartbeat for the first time, tears were brought to my eyes. Through the ultra sound my baby was stretching, kicking and bouncing all about. It was amazing to see and I couldn't stop smiling :D Heartbeat was 159bpm.The examiner (who was absolutely amazing and informative) told me I was going to need running shoes. He hadn't seen such an active baby in a long time. He showed me every part of my baby he could, giving me facts and little stories along the way. At the end he asked me if I wanted to know what I was having. He was 80% sure what it was. As much as I wanted my partner to be there with me to find out together, I just couldn't wait!!! He told me we're having a baby girl!!! :):):) we couldn't be more excited! Today mommy mode kicked in and it all became so real. Every doubt I had about being a mother, losing my baby or negative thought went out the window! I'm going to be the best mommy to the most beautiful baby girl. I feel so much love and happiness.
