Baby sleeping in bouncer?

Question

Today I tried letting my son sleep in the bouncer for the night because he just doesn't seem to sleep very well in the bassinet and he slept for the whole night, only waking up to feed. I want to do what's best for him and I heard that babies should sleep flat because It helps with spine development so I don't know if I can keep letting him sleep in the bouncer?

Listen... there are a lot of rules when it comes to babies. A lot. And yes I am an advocate of safe sleep practices. But as someone whose child would NOT sleep unless being held for the first 8 weeks of her life, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do! Sleeping with your baby on your chest is a big no-no but that's what I had to do to even get 4 hours a night. I would say keep the bouncer near you where you can hear and check on baby, but ultimately a baby will be MUCH better cared for my a rested mother. I would definitely try to break the habit as soon as you can but if that's what it takes to get a bit of sleep, do what you have to!

I think my daughter slept in her bouncer for a total of like three nights (not in a row, just randomly). I just kept putting her in her bassinet and if she wouldn't sleep there then I would put her in her bouncer. It's not good to allow them to sleep in the bouncer for extended periods of time because it can cause torticollis, but a night here and there isn't going to harm your baby at all..

My daughter had to sleep in car seat I kept trying to put her to sleep somewhere else and then one day she just was OK with sleeping in Moses basket , I guess most small babies  don't like flat position I guess cos they not use to it .

My daughter had colic and this was the only way to get her to go to bed! 
Now she's trying to walk before crawling haha. Your baby will be fine!

My daughter sleeps in her swing because he doctor said she needed to sleep at an incline or on her belly so when she lays flat she's on her belly.

My slept in the swing until the poor thing couldn't handle her weight. Best gift we ever received! I didn't check on her a lot to make sure she was alright

There are a lot of people who do this, many of them use the rock/sleep and play. Some dr recommend it when a child has bad reflux.
