She always just spits it out, but I know she enjoys it because she is calm and happy if I hold it in her mouth for her?!!

She will suck it further if you kind of tug at it in her mouth rather than pushing or holding it in, triggers the reflex more.

When babies are first learning to suck on a paci they spit it out a lot bc they are still learning how to suck to keep it in. Just keep giving it back. You can even hold it a bit while they suck. It's just a learning curve.

I never found a trick for that so we finally gave up on in because she would spit it out every few minutes and then cry for it. At almost 7 months, its a toy now that she can pick up herself and play with
