One day of spotting but no BFP

I had one day of faint spotting. My boobs hurt like crazy and I've had some cramping. I took two tests and both were negative. AF is due on the 20th. Is it possible I'm pregnant and it's just to early to test? Hubby and I have been trying for over a year.
