Fertility Doctor or Test???

Do you ladies know a cheap way to find out if I'm able to have kids and make sure my bf isn't shooting blanks. We're both worried. My bf thinks he is shooting blanks because he was a premie (born a month early). I was talking to one of my friends and she said that my insurance would probably only cover 50% if I went to a fertility doctor. Anything will help, thank you!
