My sister and I spoke today she told me the OB I see will ask at 38 weeks if I would like to have my membranes swept, it's an option they offer and usually do for many patients. I currently have 40 days left. My doctor is a top Ob in NJ and in tons of medical magazines. I've been going there 12 years now trusting them fully. My question is has anyone done this already? Is it a good thing to do? And does this sweep actually induce labor? Being my son could be 9-10lbs as my doctor and specialist are sure about, would it be best to try inducing early? I know for my sister they did it 3 times with no success and she was still late with my nephew who was born 4 years ago.
