cervix check ?

At how many weeks did you begin to get your cervix checked ? When did you begin dilating ?

My doctor started at 36 weeks. Honestly, unless it's medically necessary I wouldn't get it done. There's no reason. It'll just make you anxious and think you'll deliver early.. when being dialated doesn't matter early. I started at 2CM since 36 weeks. Then every check after was 4CM at my weekly appointments. Had I known they weren't necessary I wouldn't have had them done! I'm almost 5 days overdue now. So it's no indication when you'll go into labor.

My doctor doesn't check the cervix until labor. That is, unless there's an actual reason to check it. It could actually cause preterm labor & my doctor tries to avoid it. I've seen other people on here post that they try & check their own and that is a HUGE no no and really dangerous!

I had one at 35 weeks. I suggest you don't get it done. It hurt so bad and caused me to bleed and loose my mucous plug. It really isn't necessary

Had mine checked at 34 weeks...just last week..because I have been feeling pelvic pressure so just to be sure she checked.. it wasn't all that bad for me, just uncomfortable

I don't think I was checked last time until 34-36 weeks. I'm only 21 weeks now so I'm not to that point yet:)
