Waiting in what feels like a dark tunnel. The waiting is brutal. Af used to show up first thing in the morning now she takes her time and month after month she appears just in time to crush my hopes. So I wait, on high alert for her sudden arrival, with a tampon in one hand, and fingers crossed on the other.
