Do you believe most police officers are good?

I think that most of them are good people, but there are definitely some dirty ones, and they need to be held accountable for murdering innocent black people.

If those good police officers don't speak up then they are bad too.

I think the only way to talk about police brutality is to talk about the system of law enforcement, not random officers.

We need to talk about how police who are out of line are not being held accountable for the actions they have taken.

We need to talk about what is leading up to the mass amount of black lives being taken.

We need to talk about how force is executed and to what extent in different situations.

We need to talk about incarceration statistics.

We need to talk about the war on drugs and how it's specifically targeting people of color.

This isn't just about your friendly neighbor police officers and I feel like that's where a lot of people are getting stuck. It's about the institution, the system, the structure of law enforcement.

It doesn't matter if your hearts in the right place. At the end of the day, if you shoot a boy who isn't a threat and you're wearing a badge... 
You're still a murderer. 
And you should be treated as such.

This is harsh, but unless they are actively speaking out about the blatant racially motivated crimes committed by their colleagues, then I can't say they are good men.

I liken it to the people mover analogy. If you aren't actively walking against it, you are moving with it and are complacent in that movement.

There can't be any good cops until the alleged good cops start calling out and arresting the bad ones. Isn't that their job? They should be protecting the citizens from bad cops. I'm all for nationwide law enforcement reform. The police began as runaway slave patrols who often stole freed men and sold them into slavery. As it stands, people of color cannot rely on a system that was never designed to protect them. In addition, the number of cops who are members of the KKK is ridiculous. Not designed for us.

There is good in people and bad in people. Just because you wear a badge doesnt make you good. Just because you wear a suit and tie doesn't mean you aren't bad. 
In saying that, to be a good cop means standing up when something bad happens. You are just as bad as the next if you sit around and do nothing...

There needs to be an overhaul for the criminal minds justice system period. From the academy-officers-precincts-prisons-judges-defense attorneys-prosecutors-laws-law makers (federal, state, and local), to the justice department, to the president himself.

I believe there are good cops. I personally know a few and believe them to be upstanding. They recognize what's going on in the world around them and do not agree with it. They hate the way the bad apples are ruining how the whole police force looks. I believe some take the brother code too far and can be assholes for no apparent reason, but I can't say all of them are like that
