How do you know if you have a cyst on your ovaries?

I'm wanting to know if small ones hurt any or if you just feel big ones

I only knew I had cysts because they showed up on ultrasounds... Though I have had one burst and it was pretty rough, it felt like my period. Otherwise, they really only make themselves known during my period when my period cramps get awful.

I had one on my right ovarie and I didn't know it at all no pain nothing until my dr sent me for an ultrasound it went away on its own
