Should suicide and assisted suicide be legal?

I feel like your life is your own to do with as you please, as long as you're not physically harming others. What do you think?

Terminally ill people deserve to die with dignity, not going through and having their family exposed to their rapidly debilitating state spending days on end in agony and losing their faculties.

Why is it that we can do it to our pets, but not extend that sympathy to our flesh and blood?  You people who voted never...well, let's hope you and yours have healthy, independent last days because if not, you'd better be fine with suffering until the very end if something happens. ?

People should have the right to to decide when they want to end their lives. Not up to the government to decide.

It is ridiculous that suicide is illegal... How are we going to punish a person after they take thwir own life?
And assisted suicide should be a choice!

Ok I get it now. Both should be completely legal. It's barbaric to force someone to suffer because "their heart is beating". And what the heck would making suicide illegal do. I'm suicidal. Am I a criminal because at times I can't find a will to live? I'm killing myself, my body, my rights. It's not against my will. You're going to charge me for attempting to murder me. Does that even make sense. And if I don't survive, who are you charging, a dead body. There's therapy out there. Making it illegal solves nothing.

Assisted suicide is ok in my book, for those who are dying slowly of some horrible illness. Do I think the young/healthy should do it? No.

Suicide is "illegal" because police cannot legally enter your home unless a crime is being committed. If suicide was legal and I called the cop because my friend said she was suicide they couldn't do anything. But since it's considered illegal if I called the police and said "hey my friend is suicidal" they can then go to her home and legally enter her home.

You're talking about 2 vastly different situations. I don't think you can use a blanket to cover suicide to make it a topic with no grey areas.
