PCOS Just Diagnosed Please Help 💗
Hi ladies,
I would be so grateful if you could please help me and give me some advice. I'm 25, for the past year+ I had been complaining to my GP of intense period pain/cramping, abnormalities with my period and extreme pelvic pain. I came off the pill in January and my period didn't return. I visit her monthly and continued to bring the topic up so eventually she tested my bloods and my testosterone came back elevated as well as LH & FSH abnormalities. I had a pelvic u/s on Monday which confirmed PCOS with the majority of cysts mainly on my right ovary. I returned on Wednesday last to get repeat hormonal bloods as the previous were mid cycle. This diagnosis is all a bit of a shock, my GP said I'd be struggle to get pregnant or carry a child to term which naturally is upsetting to hear. I would really appreciate any advice you could give me on where I should go next with regards to my treatment before I see her in 2 weeks as sometimes she isn't the most helpful. In scenarios like this is in more preferable to see an endocrinologist or a gynecologist? Also would you have any particular consultant you could recommend, I really would be so grateful of any advice. One final question I have is with regards to metformin. Can you be prescribed it along with the pill?
Apologies for such a long post. I'm just a tad lost at the moment and I'd be so grateful of any help, thanks 💗💗xx
