how do you teach baby to sit up?

We just sat him up and barricaded him in with pillows. But of course hed land in the crack of the pillows 😣 it took a couple days but he got the hang of it just put a toy in their lap. If you want them to go into a sitting position  by himself i would always put him on his tummy so if he wanted to sit up hed have to figure it out. Now he sits up and can pull to stand. Good luck momma. Remember babies fall just cry with him/her. Lol :)

I have a boppy where we sit him and tried to teach him to balance lol he stays up with no support but sometimes loses his balance and falls sideways he will be 6mo on the 20th

he's been sitting up since right before 4 months so he's a pro now, 5 months 3 weeks. It started with lots of leaning and using his arms to stay up. I always would just sit him up in my lap, corner of the couch. Him reaching out in front of him playing helped a lot with sitting up. straighter.
