normal?!!

Question

Congestion in 2 month old. He's only congested early mornings but it's been 16 days now. He'll cough a little to but probably bc he's congested. I've done everything and seriously nothing has worked. Temporary yes but why can't he just get better?! Anyone else experience this for such a long time? The doctor tells me it's normal

Our little one is congested like that too. We use saline nasal spray and the NoseFrida. (It works so much better than the bulb syringe) .When we do that, a lot comes out, but baby hates it. (I think he hates the saline spray, I used just the NoseFrida yesterday without the spray and he didn't scream.)  He breathes so much better after its done. And we use a humidifier in his room at night. His pediatrician said we can try a tiny amount of Benedryl if it continues another week, but she said you have to be careful with that. (He's 4 months old, so he's older than your little one.) She said it can cause the opposite effect in babies, causing fast breathing and rapid heartbeat. So I don't think we'll be trying that, hopefully it will clear up on its own.

I thought my daughter was congested so I had asked the dr at one of her appts and he said it's silent reflex. Formula comes up and gets in the nasle cavities and makes it sound like she is congested but she's not. I spray a little bit of saline mist in her nose each morning. Seems to help.
