Would you do what she did.? Way to go Rebecca

The picture is of a woman named Rebecca Wanosik breastfeeding two babies. The babies hold hands as they belly up to Rebecca and you would think, “Oh, how sweet. Those babies must be twins.”

But, they are not. In fact, one of the babies is a complete stranger.

Rebecca and her husband Anthony have both shared the photo along with their story on Facebook and it has since gone viral.

In Rebecca’s original Facebook post, she shared

“So last Friday night while I was carving and building a cake, I received a random text from one of my friends asking if I could feed a stranger’s baby. Was there ever a question? The baby’s mother was having surgery and the baby is exclusively breastfed and refused a bottle.

When the baby arrived you could tell she was hungry and exhausted and just needed some milk. I did what I hope any person would do for my child in a time of despair. I fed a stranger’s baby.

I was so surprised by just how many people thought it was weird, or unnatural. They are boobs, they are meant to feed babies. Also, in case anyone forgot, they are mine, so I’m fairly certain I choose what happens with them.

Regardless, I took an amazing photo tandem nursing these two babies together and it shows that hungry babies don’t care, they just need to be fed.”

Sadly, shortly after gaining momentum, Facebook shut down Rebecca’s personal account after several individuals flagged the picture as inappropriate. That has not stopped this picture from spreading like wildfire. Several other sources have shared the photo and story, along with Rebecca’s husband Anthony.

And, despite all those who seem to be losing their shit over it, there are so many other people stepping forward with support and stories of their own.

One Facebook member commented

“Great job! My grandma nursed a baby of her neighbour who passed away during labour. Grandma nursed that baby for six months while nursing her own baby who is my mum! Kudos to you for being an amazing human being!”

Personally, I think this picture of these babies being loved and fed is stunning. And what Rebecca did is wonderful, and the baby sharing his momma so lovingly is wonderful. Why people are getting so flustered over it, I will never understand.
