1 cm dilated! Ultrasound says he could be 8.5 lbs!? how accurate was your ultrasound vs actual birth weight.

Just found out yesterday I am 1 cm dilated! According to his measurements I am 39.5 weeks pregnant and he should be here Thursday! We know our date of conception though and technically I would deliver the 21st. Also his ultrasound shows he weighs 8.5 lbs!!!!! Is this accurate!?Thoughts and opinions?

They told me my son was 9lbs and he was 6lbs 11oz at birth

Not at all!! Thursday morning I had a sonogram he measured 8lb 12oz. Thursday afternoon my water broke had him at 11:38pm he was only 7lb 9oz!!

My tech was a smidge off. She estimated 7.13 on Tuesday. he was born that night at 7.7

My ultrasound showed 8 lb 13 oz. The doctor scheduled me to be induced Friday. My water broke at 4am Friday morning. Little man must have heard us talking about it and decided to come out. 
He was only 7 lb 3 oz. Huge difference!!!

Ultrasound are not accurate. I don't know why they even bother telling people without heavily caveating their estimates.

Not at all!! I was told my little girl would be 9lb 10oz. They induced me because of her rapid weight gain and she was born weighing 8lb 3oz! X

I'm a FTM, but at my 38 week ultrasound they said she was measuring 8lbs 12oz..... I'm gonna go ahead and say that it's not accurate. Haha they can be wrong up to a pound going up or down.

I was 35 weeks. Baby boy measured 5 lbs 12 ounces on ultrasound. I had very low amniotic fluid so we had to deliver (c section). He weighed 6 lbs 9 ounces at birth.

At my 39 week ultrasound my baby estimated at 8.4lbs. I'd like to think it isn't right a lot of people told me their estimates were off as it's so hard to get accurate measurements when baby is too big for an ultrasound!
