Today I went to my grandmothers for Christmas like I do every year. And every year I hope my dad will show up and he never does. This year he called and asked if the 5 of us (my siblings) would come out and meet him since my granny said he couldn't come over. We had to take 2 cars because there was 6 of us. My mom got angry with me for driving MY CAR to see my dad and not staying with my granny. Maybe it's just me but I don't understand why she is so angry with me. I know she hates my dad but I'm 18 and legally there's nothing saying I can't be in contact with him. She may have a restraining order but that doesn't impact me. Was I wrong for going to see my dad after 7 years or is my mom just overreacting? Is is a protective thing? I also thinks she doesn't believe me because she says she has to call my granny. I don't know but she ruined the Christmas I would say was the best one I've had in a while.
