Wedding Etiquette? Do the parents get wedding gifts?

I'm getting married next month and was wondering if we should buy the parents gifts for helping us out? If so, what should we get them?

I think it's a nice gesture. We gave in-laws/parents a mini version of our wedding album and one of the potted (liquid amber) trees that we had at our outdoor Wedding reception. It's been a lovely 'anniversary' reminder watching the trees grow over the years. 🍂🍁🍃

I bought  the mother's  a gift.  Both necklaces  with engraving

I did :) I got my mom and MIL a cute robe that matched the brides maids robes :) I didn't get my dad anything because he hates gifts and would be mad if I got one for him lol! I did however frame a beautiful picture of us for his birthday from our wedding and he really liked that :) pinterest has some great ideas for gifts!

I didnt... just thanked them personally in my wedding speech and gave them an 8×10 of the professional family photo

I got our mothers gifts. Our dads didn't care in the least haha.

We got our parents the same thing.  It was an etched crystal serving plate designed by a famous New Orleans jewelry designer.

I didn't at my wedding. Now that I think about, I'm wondering why I didn't think to then. Not just my parents but my family played a HUGE part in making it all happen. 
Anyways, I'm big on get togethers with my family so maybe after yall are settled or before the wedding (idk), take them out to dinner? Don't know if that would work for you but I'm not sure what gift could be given.
