Baby showers and rsvping

Do people not rsvp anymore?! My shower is next weekend and literally two people have rsvp'd. Now I know people are coming bc they call me and ask what I want or need and the time it starts completely ignoring my registry and the whole invite, even though I confirmed they received it....arghhh!! Also we wanted to cater but I don't have a general headcount bc....well no rsvping. I have a few more rsvping only bc I told them they won't eat if they dont rsvp but I can't believe I have to do all that. I'm not even planning my shower but my friend had to ask what should she do since we have no idea on who to truly expect.
