If she gained a bunch of weight after they got together, I get it. That's not what he signed up for. However, he should be nice and help her try to lose the weight if she wants to. He should also never make rude remarks or false accusations. Again, her body is her own and if she's fine with her weight that's great, but if that's not what he signed up for, you can't totally blame him.

Fatphobia too real. Tell your friend to drop such a hateful partner. At ANY point in the relationship this is not ok. When my partner met me I was considered a "healthy weight" according to the bullshit BMI system we still use. I have gained a lot of weight over the course of our relationship and there is a way to be loved and respected in your body during a relationship.
