Hey y'all I don't really have any female family members I can go to for this and the internet is always eh so I decided to ask y'all, what form of birth control would y'all recommend?? Im planning to visit planned parenthood very soon thank y'all!!

for a first time user, I'd recommend trying the pill.

It depends on you. I have Mirena and I love it (no periods and I don't have to think about it) but you have to be weary of side effects and such.

I would start with the pill. I found it did not react well with me despite trying multiple different ones because I became super emotional with the artificial hormones. Now I use a non hormonal IUD and love it. It is super convenient but I still am not a huge fan of having something in my cervix.

Depo shot. You only need it every 11-12 weeks.

I always liked the pill. I got on it at 14, stayed on it until I was 19, got pregnant right after i turned 20, got back on it as 21 and got off of it at 22.5. It has minimal side effects and there's a lot of brands to try to find which ones work best for you.

If you can remember to take it on time every day, I'd suggest the pill. If not, the patch only requires you switch it once a week and NuvaRing is once a month so those are good options too.
