Did you tell everyone when you went in to labor? And why?

I'm not planning on announcing baby's birth til we're home and comfortable. Only my SO, mil and mom will know. But does it get boring/lonely waiting at the hospital or did you enjoy the quiet time? Im a ftm.

I've always had my mom, dad, grandparents & my bestie there. I will tell the probably 5 other people after she's born, but I'd rather they wait til I'm home. After birth I'm tired and I got family if I need company. Plus I have Internet access and I want sleep where I can get it. But I am someone who loves my alone time and I know that some people really like people there afterwards etc. I mean... If you're sick or stuck in bed at home for 2-days, then do you want friends to come by or do you want them to wait? It's kinda same after birth. Kinda lol.

I keep my babies in the room with me not left in the nursery so I had things to do baby , sleep,talk to my mother, TV , baby ,sleep . Was to tired to be bored lol it's only two days.

We stayed in the hospital for 3 days because my daughter had a fever when she was born but we didn't announce right away baby was born. It was super nice to just enjoy life with just us 3. We ended up telling close family while we were there because we needed care for our dogs and didn't want anyone to worry but there was plenty for us to do in the hospital to keep us entertained

We told after baby was born. It was nice. With my first my friends came and stayed 10 minutes..which was super respectful. With my Dr ond they came a day or 2 later since we went home straight after birth ( 6 hours later)

When I was in labor I def wasn't bored but when I went to post partum I was bored out of my mind n I couldn't sleep n couldn't wait to come home n I was only there for a day n a half.

With my first....visitors we're a nightmare right after my csection.  My inlaws barged in and started a fight and caused all sorts of chaos!  This time ppl are welcome to come to the csection and wait...watch the baby through the window but I am planning on not allowing visitors for a few hours or possibly the next day!  I want to enjoy my hubby, baby and my daughter!!

We didnt tell anyone other than our parents when we went into labor. We waited until the next day to tell extended family. 
I didnt mind visitors in the hospital, but we didnt have many. I wouldn't have liked having a constant flow of people. You're try to learn about your baby, learn how to nurse, taking in all the info from the nurses...it can be overwhelming with a room full of people.

My room was filled with friends and family the night after I gave birth. I loved it!
