Spoiling Baby??

Question

My daughter is 6 weeks and wants to be held all the time. If i put her down she starts to cry within less than 5 minutes. It just started this week too. Before she was fine and would be calm where ever I set her. My husband says it's my fault because I breast feed her and let her fall asleep on me. Is it possible to spoil her from having her fall asleep on my chest?

If you think about it, all these babies have known are us and our bodies, our heartbeats, our smell and warmth. Then they're born and expected to sleep on their own immediately or "learn" to calm themselves down for fear of being spoiled. I believe you can't spoil a newborn either and they're only this small for so long. Hold that baby if that's what you want to do! She needs you! 
Typing this as my 6 week old son is asleep on my chest as well. He's comfortable and happy and that means I am too.

lol there's no such thing as spoiling a new born, they are at their most neediest stage, I mean, we can't ignore them, that's cruel! Continue what you're doing momma, men wouldn't understand 🙄

I don't think you can spoil a baby. By definition, spoiling requires them to have some understanding of manipulation. They're babies. They don't have that. My baby falls asleep after eating all the time. Anyone who thinks she's spoiled can bite me

I would say no and you can't spoil a newborn. I do the same thing with my son and let him sleep on my chest. Sometimes I let him sleep there all night cuz that's where he sleeps the best. When he gets bigger and too heavy then we'll figure something else out but for now that's what works.

Have you ever heard of leaps and the wonder weeks? There's a book written about it but there's also an app. It's basically developmental leaps that your baby goes through and the signs are usually extra fussiness, clingy, wants to be fed more, ect. And with each stage your baby gains new skills. It's pretty interesting and also helps you understand what could be going on with your baby during certain weeks. The app does cost $1.99 but I think it's well worth it.

You can't spoil an infant. They don't understand that. I downloaded the wonder weeks and it is amazing. My baby girl is nine weeks and still has times when she wants to be held. It isn't until they are a few months old they can be "spoiled" and can self sooth.

My little girl is the same way and it's gotten to the point she would act like she's hungry I would put her to breast and she'll fall asleep won't even it. Like she treats me like a pacifier.
