We picked Sunday after church times so any family members who go to church can come and eat with us. And usually people have other arrangements like sports saturdays.

It honestly depends on your friends and family's activities. Many in ours have Saturday basketball games so Sunday's work best for ours.

Personally I like Saturday showers but mine is on a Sunday. I am not throwing it so setting the date wasn't up to me.
