Labor Anxiety?

I know that it is very common, but has anyone been up for days scared and anxious for the "BIG DAY" not able to sleep and when people talk about how they can't wait, you just cringe at the thought of labor?

Doctors tell me I could go anytime now, and honestly... I'm way too scared. Kinda just wish I can keep her in forever. Anyone else with me?

I remember the anxiety. The fear of the unknown. The hype. People telling that giving birth is this magical, mystical experience...that I will never forget it. All building me up in a frenzy of angst, worry, and excitement. But somewhere between the harsh lights and the countless nurses asking me to quantify the pain on some arbitrary pain scale, I am struck by what I don't remember about that day. I don't remember the pinch of the IVs, but I do remember that there were 62 ceiling tiles. I don't remember the  blood but I do remember the way the hospital bed rails felt in my hands as I have that final push that brought my son into this world. I guess my point is, you have come to far to go back now. Your LO is coming out one way or another...all the choices have been made and all the plans have been laid. All that's left to do is enjoy the ride.

Yessssss I'm right there with you! I have about 4 wks left and I'm nervous yet very anxious. I just want everything to turn out smoothly but my anxiety about labor is getting to me.

Yes!! I'm laying in bed at 3am here just anxious about WHEN it'll happen. I just wish I knew the day so I didn't have to be anxious about the unknowns. I'm so ready to be 40 weeks! 38+3 now!
