When can babies get Cereal ?

Hey everyone I just wanted your opinion on when you gave your little ones cereal? My daughter was considered underweight for a while ,and I didn't think much of it because she was healthy just small , so now her pediatrician recommended adding cereal to her bottles she's only seven weeks and I was wondering is it too soon?

I was always hungry so they did it to me as a baby it helped me not be as fussy

The cereal is for added calories. You only put in a tablespoon or two as you want the bottle to still be liquid. Mix well. If the doctor suggested it then I would follow their instructions. Usually they spoon feed cereal (like mush) around 4-6 months or when they can push food to the back of their mouth with their tongue.

I would say if the Dr says it's fine then it's fine. They are a trained medical professional and know what they are talking about.
