Is it okay to have a baby shower at 20 weeks??

My husband's family is throwing a baby shower for us on November 19.. I'll be 20 weeks and 5 days on the day of the baby shower. I've been told that it's too early for one but we will be driving 8.5 hours since his family is throwing it for us.. and I don't want to wait til I'm further along and travel that far...

Way better then having one at 36 weeks like i did! NOTHING was set up until after my baby girl was born! Definitely never to early!

I don't get why there's a certain time to have a baby shower? I would love to have one earlier so the baby's room would be 100% ready to go and I wouldn't have anything to worry about later haha
