Salmonella...

I just got back from Costco where I purchased a pack or organic free-range chicken breast. I picked it up and put it in the bag. When we got home hubby said the bag was slimy as if the package was open or opened while we were shopping. Crap! I'm almost positive I didn't put my fingers in my mouth (bc I'm scared of getting sick with baby) but you never know. How likely is it that I may get food poisoning from touching it one time to put it in the bag? I don't want to do anything to jeopardize the baby!
