How are you saving money??

Question

So, I decided I want to cut corners anyway I could to save money. I got a used crib cleaned and paint it up. I've been looking for cribs set and they are all over priced. So, I decided to sew my own crib set. I also plan on making my own reusable diapers and breast pads. It's all about saving up for my girls to go to college anyways. The pics below are is a pillow I made to decor the babies room. The start of the crib set! And the crib I got used and cleaned up. How are you saving money? Comment below!!!

Yayyy for saving!!! I'll admit I'm cheap as hell! Lol. We haven't spent anymore then $30-50 for baby so far. (At 34weeks.) A few outfits & I made a baby blanket.

The crib came from a neighbor, practically new. Hubby got a free pack n play from work. Swing came from my friend. Getting the car seat free from the police dept. Most everything else was covered at the baby shower.

For diapers, coupons, Target Cartwheel & sales. Same with clothes purchasing out of season closer to time. We'll be getting his clothes for next summer as they continue to go on clearance in the next few wks.

I just buy used or borrow wherever I can!  People have been SO generous to us,  so baby boy still has tons of beautiful new things... but if a mama  bought it, it was from a garage sale or clearance rack.  :-P

We're relatively well off but I don't like to spend more than I have to on anything (possibly one of the reasons we're in good financial shape). I'm not particularly crafty but I am a bargain hunter and I don't think I've paid full price for anything - I'm not a slave to fashion so I've happily bought last year's model on things when they're being cleared out to make room for new designs.  My travel system was less than half price, a lot of the clothes I've bought came from an outlet that I get an additional discount from because of where I work so I pay about 70% less than the retail price,  we've bought a convertible car seat that's suitable from birth all the way through (bought on sale and used a work discount so it was half price),  I've signed up to baby clubs that send freebies and discount vouchers which I've used to buy other stuff, combining sales with additional discounts whenever I can.  If I pay full retail price for anything I feel like I've failed lol. 
Once the baby arrives, I'm hoping to feed exclusively breastmilk and then do baby led weaning (no store bought jars or pouches etc) which will save a lot.

Anybody that offers us anything, I take it! I love used hand me downs and love to just make it all work. We bought our travel system in sale because a new model is coming out. And that is the only big ticket thing we've bought. We save so much money by cramming everything into the little house we already have. Babies don't take up much room and we would rather save the money and get a bigger house when we actually need to.

We wait for sales for almost anything we need. My fiance wanted to get our daughter a $1,200 crib that had a matching $800 dresser and $1,500 cabinet but we decided to wait a while to get her crib and dresser to see if we could find anything cheaper (I knew we could, he just wanted to spoil her and get her a really nice set) and we ended up finding a crib at Babies R Us that was on sale for $150 that was originally $600 but it was the floor model so it had a couple scratches and they were getting rid of it and a dresser they were getting rid of for $300 that was originally close to $800. We also went to a local "flea market" in our city that's really popular, it's basically a huge warehouse made into a bunch of different booths, we found a chair for her (in the corner of the second picture beside the crib) that we saw at Babies R Us for well over $400 but we got it for $100

That all turned out beautifully! I am not much for sewing, but I've done tons of other money savers! I have purchased the majority of her clothes from once upon a child, found her crib for 50 dollars and just painted it up, took a hand-me-down changing table and painted it, and received a used dresser that will also be painted so all the furniture matches. I have been shopping resale stores, and have been super picky so I actually like it! I found my swing that I had registered for and paid 85 instead of 170, I found a play gym bouncer thing (no idea what it's actually called...lol...) for 30 dollars instead of 130. I have found tons of little things that I need that were never used, but sent to a resale store and less than half the price. Everything I bought resale is in perfect condition, and matches the theme we are going with! It's a ton of work, but has saved us hundreds of dollars (at least)!! Here's some pics of the things I got!

I also got a second car seat for my husband's car WAY on sale! It's a chicco keyfit 30 from buy buy baby (so NOT used), and after a discount and a coupon I paid 80 dollars instead of 200! I was so excited! It was less for a whole car seat than it was for just a second base!
